Planning a wedding is one of life’s most exciting journeys and it’s enjoyed the most when shared with the right people. For every couple, there’s a unique team of vendors who help bring their vision to life. The best results come when your vendor team reflects you. But just as clients look for vendors that align with their personalities, we, as vendors, thrive when we work with clients who align with our process, values, and approach.

What Makes an Ideal Client?

We’re here to guide you—through the rollercoaster that is wedding planning and want every client to feel supported, understood, and confident..

Here are a few qualities that make for a truly successful planning experience:

1. Grounded in Purpose

The couples we love working with most are those who never lose sight of why we’re here: to celebrate a marriage. It’s not just about throwing a party—it’s about honoring a deep connection between two people. You’re marrying your best friend, and you want the day to reflect that.

2. Respectful of the Process

Our process has been built and refined based on countless events and years of industry experience. Like a great doctor, lawyer, or financial advisor, we’re here to guide you. We bring not only expertise, but perspective. The industry is complex, but we’ve seen a lot, and we’re here to help navigate it with you. When clients trust us, it opens the door for us to provide you with the best service that we possibly can.

3. Design Enthusiasts

You don’t need to arrive with a fully-formed Pinterest board or a list of favorite color palettes. But the clients we are able to support most care about the overall aesthetic of their day. Maybe you’re torn between timeless green-and-white luxury or a bold color explosion with a whimsical vibe—and that’s okay. We like to think through the design based on what feeling you want to evoke. What matters most is your willingness to explore how you want your wedding to feel for you and your guests. That emotional starting point allows us to create something truly tailored to your story as a couple.

4. Excited to Collaborate

Great weddings are created through trust and teamwork. Our happiest clients are open to collaboration, excited to bounce ideas around, and ready to let us lead in areas where our experience shines. Think of us as your wedding planning partners—you provide the vision, and we’ll lay the foundation and build the structure to bring it to life.

5. Value Our Vendor Relationships

We’ve built strong relationships throughout the industry with florists, photographers, musicians, and more—who reflect our standards and values. When we recommend someone or bring a new vendor on, it’s because we believe in them. We’ll never refer a vendor we wouldn’t trust with our own events. We ask our clients to show our vendor partners the same respect they show us—they’re all integral to bringing your dream day to life.

6. Family Input (with Boundaries)

We know family matters. Incorporating your loved ones into the process can be a beautiful part of planning—but it needs to be done with care. At the end of the day, this celebration is about you and your partner. While we respect the role your parents and family may play in the process, we are here to protect your vision. If you're unable to set boundaries around decision-making with loved ones, it may be challenging to keep the focus on your vision as a couple.

Who’s Not Our Client?

While we’d love to be the right fit for every couple, sometimes we may not be the best match—and that’s okay. It’s not about judgment; it’s about ensuring the planning process is joyful, productive, and true to your needs.

We may not be the best fit for clients who:

  • Struggle to treat vendors with respect: Our team and our vendor partners pour their hearts into this work. We work best with couples who value kindness, professionalism, and collaboration. Mutual respect is essential—not just with us, but with everyone involved in bringing your vision to life.

  • Don’t see value in our expertise: Planning a wedding involves countless details, moving parts, and behind-the-scenes problem solving. We’ve spent years honing our process so that you can enjoy this experience with less stress and more joy. If you prefer a more hands-off planner approach or are unsure whether planning support is necessary, that’s completely okay—but it may mean we’re not the right match.

  • Have difficulty relinquishing control: Your voice and vision are at the center of everything we do. But for our process to truly work, there has to be a level of trust. We thrive when we’re given room to bring your ideas to life through our creativity and experience. If it’s hard to delegate or collaborate, it can make the journey more challenging for everyone.

The Bottom Line

The ideal client doesn’t need to have it all figured out. They just need to care deeply, communicate honestly, and be open to collaboration. When you come to us excited to create something meaningful, ready to trust the process, and grounded in love—that’s when the magic happens.

We’re not just planning a wedding. We’re creating an experience that reflects who you are, and we’re honored to be part of that journey.
