FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT AREAS DO YOU SERVICE?
We primarily service Rochester, the Fingerlakes Region, and Buffalo. Although this is our primary service area we will travel to any couple interested in booking our services, including out-of-state. For weddings beyond 60 miles we do have a mileage fee in accordance with the NYS rate. Other travel fees for out-of-state clients will be discussed in the initial consultation.
DO YOU CHARGE FOR THE INITIAL CONSULTATION?
No, the process begins with a complimentary consultation via Zoom. The initial consultation allows a couple to meet with Eliza and discuss their vision, budget, and wedding planning needs. It also provides an opportunity to get to know each other and ensure it is a good fit.
MY VENUE PROVIDES AN ON-SITE COORDINATOR. DO I NEED TO HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER TOO?
An on-site coordinator works for the venue and is typically responsible for coordinating the logistics of the venue such as tables, chairs, and catering.
A wedding planner, on the other hand, works for the client and typically provides more comprehensive planning services, such as helping with vendor selection, budget management, and overall event design.
We love working alongside venue coordinators and we believe they are two very different roles. We have often found that turnover is common amongst venue coordinators and who you start with may be different on your wedding day. We would love to bridge that gap and ensure all the finer details are taken care of.
HOW EARLY SHOULD COUPLES START PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?
Couples should start planning their wedding as early as possible. The general rule of thumb is to start planning at least 12-18 months in advance, especially if you are planning a large wedding or if you are getting married during peak wedding season.
Starting early will allow you to secure your preferred wedding date and venues, as well as give you enough time to plan and make important decisions such as hiring vendors and choosing your wedding party.
That being said, it's not uncommon for couples to start planning only a few months in advance, especially if they are planning a smaller, more intimate wedding. As for planning services, on average Full-Service clients book 12-18 months in advance and Partial Planning typically 6-12 months in advance.
HOW MANY PEOPLE SHOULD I EXPECT TO BE THERE FROM YOUR TEAM THE DAY OF MY WEDDING?
The number of people on your wedding day can vary depending on the specific needs of the couple and the size of the wedding. For Partial Planning, you can expect to have Eliza onsite all day with an additional 1-2 coordinators on site to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
However, for Full-Service Planning, you may have more team members involved based on the overall design and logistics of the wedding. Eliza will be onsite from start to finish with the team to bring the vision to life. On average 3-4 coordinators are staffed in addition to Eliza. We have a team of 8 coordinators if the wedding requires additional staffing.
HOW MANY MEETINGS WILL WE HAVE, AND HOW WILL WE BE INVOLVED?
The number of meetings you will have and the level of involvement will depend on the type of planning package you choose.
For Full-Service Planning, you will have several meetings with Eliza, starting with an initial consultation to discuss your vision and budget, followed by regular check-ins to review progress and make decisions. You may also have several vendor meetings, such as with florists and caterers, that Eliza will attend with you.
For Partial Planning, you will have three pre-wedding consultations to use at your discretion, mandatory 3-month and 1-month check-ins, along with optional weekly office hours to use as needed.
I'M LOST IN DESIGNING MY WEDDING AND MAKING CERTAIN IT IS COHESIVE. DO YOU ASSIST WITH THE STYLE/DESIGN OF MY WEDDING AS WELL?
Yes, we can help you create a cohesive look and feel for your wedding by helping you identify your personal style and preferences, and use this information to create a design that reflects your personality and vision for your wedding. We will provide inspiration and ideas for different design elements, such as color schemes, floral arrangements, and table settings.
After the initial design we will work with your other vendors, such as your florist, to ensure that the design elements of your wedding are cohesive and complement each other in addition to creating a floor plan and managing the placement of decor elements on the day of the wedding.
